  1. Hi Amy-

I didn't want to "clog up your blog" and wasn't sure of the best way to contact you. I wanted to ask you- is the coat pattern true to size? I am a 5/6 so guessing that I would take a 38? Things were so different when I had home economics in high school back in the 70's. I really miss those tan crinkly tissue paper patterns and sizes that correspond to actual dress sizes...sigh...

We have our family home at the Jersey shore in Ocean Grove two blocks from the beach- which was hit pretty hard. We're not able to check on it and are hoping for the best.
Meanwhile the city has a lot of recovery to do.
The best part about being here is the chance to go to Mood- once the subways are working :-)

Thanks for your thoughts and good wishes-

  2. You are not clogging my blog at all. I am so sorry to hear about your family home :-( I am praying and sending good vibes your way that it is ok, and everything will be fine. My fingers are crossed for you!
Are all of the subways still closed? I saw that some of the tunnels looked like rivers! I am just blown away by all the flooding and destruction. It really breaks my heart. :-(
I went to Mood's website today and they had a notice that they still do not have phone service yet. I love shopping with them online, and it is where I get most of my fabric these days. I still have yet to go shopping in the actual store, and I can't wait to do that finally.
The Burda pattern is true to size. I am the same size as you :-) and the 38 is what I made, so you could expect a similar fit as mine. I did not adjust the size at all or anything...I just used it as is.
I LOVE to buy vintage pattern on ebay and etsy. do you do that as well?? I have a ton of 60's and 70's stuff :-)
It is so nice typing with you Tricia! Feel free to type to me any time here on my blog, or you can send me an email if you like.
I hope you are having a good evening,
    keep in touch,

  4. Amy, I am looking for a replica of the little country dress with cherry sprinkles. I saw it on your blog and wondered if you could help locate one or something similar. I have my very own ideas about what I want to wear and can rarely find what I want in clothing stores. Thank you for your time. Look forward to hearing from you.

    1. Hi Shelly. I will be making these dresses once I get moved and set up with my new workspace. I am in the process of selling my house right now. Make sure to follow my blog to find out when I will be putting the dresses up online for sale.
      Thank you for your interest.

  5. I want the peach bow dress:-) from Rebekah

  6. Hello Amy, I found your blog by coincidence and now I enjoy following it. You have moved to a wonderful place (where?) and I love the nature at your place. It's great to see your talents. I think I found your blog either when doing a search on Arizona (I might go to a conference there next May) or when I looked for a color scheme for a flat I have bought in Italy. It is beeing renovated right now. We both have a great family with two kids (my daughter is 15 and my son is 12 y. old.).Greetings from Norway, Kolsås. In my spare time I run this webpage for cancer patients: See also Kreftkamp at Facecook. I hope to develop it to a 100% business:) Have a great day! :) Eyrun, Kolsås, Norway

    2. Hello Eyrun,
So nice of you to leave me a message here. It's nice to meet you :-)
Norway! Yay!! We are fans of Norway here in my house (my husband's mother's side are Norwegian) My family wants to visit there in the future. My son especially. He loves the mountains, hiking and snow! :-) We think Norway is just beautiful.
We live in Williamsburg, VA. It is a really neat place, and where the USA began. There is a ton of history here, and Colonial Williamsburg is awesome.
Thank you so much for stopping by! Keep in touch! :-)
      Have a wonderful week,

  7. Amy, Thank you so much for your beautiful pictures! My husband, daughter and I went there a few weeks ago and it was just this beautiful! I have to thank you because all of my pictures similar to yours were unsaved and my tablet crashed. Yes, I was sick and I cried and cried but I want you to know that your pictures make me feel so much better because I wanted to show my family and friends what we saw...the beautiful colors! Thank you so much for blogging these. I will show them your pictures so they can see what I am trying to tell them. My heart was broken but I do feel better now! Thank again!
