"Soren the Viking" ...my son's completed Halloween costume.

I finished my son Soren's Halloween costume today. He will be going trick-or-treat as a Viking this year. Yes...Soren will go on "a raid for candy" LOL!!!

My son Soren wearing the costume I designed for him

A "dragon skin" tunic and fur cape

Soren's tunic

Trim that I used for the neck, cuff's and hem of tunic

The fur cape...UGH..that thing was getting fuzzes all over the house! It even stuck to the walls!! It is a really heavy yet silky soft fur. The tunic is a faux suede with a bit of stretch. The trim is metallic gold thread, with bright blue, red and black. I thought it looked nice with the brown reptilian print of the tunic fabric.
The belt is a vintage 1960's leather belt. I have had it a long time. I think it is just right to complete the look.
I will of course be taking photos of him on Halloween too. It should be chilly (as always) on that night, so his cape will keep him nice and warm.

Now I am on to sewing up my pink galaxy dress. Stay tuned for pics!!
Until next post,
Amy

  1. What a fantastic costume! I use to make costumes for my kids, but making 3 every year got expensive trying to create what they wanted! You did a really good job.

    1. Thank you Shirley. I only have to take care of one costume these days. The daughter does not trick or treat any longer ;-)
