The Classic Shirt project

This past week we had to turn in our "classic shirt" projects for grading. For this project we had to draft a classic shirt based on men's styling, with a collar, collar stand, yoke, button extension and sleeve plackets.
Ciarra is my model and whom I make my projects for ultimately, so she picked out the fabric for the shirt along with the buttons. I liked working with the crisp cotton, and I absolutely love how well it presses!

We stopped to take the front facing pictures along the Colonial parkway where the York river flows into a creek. A lot of people fish here in the summer.

This week in class we draft patterns for our contour waist pant. This should be interesting. I go shopping for the fabric on Wednesday.

It has been raining here for a few days now, and the cloudy chilly weather is doing nothing for motivation levels. I just want to snuggle up in bed with a cup of tea.

Spring begins on Wednesday!!!! hooray!!! I cant wait to watch all the trees bloom. When it happens here, it literally occurs overnight. One day the trees are bare, then the next an explosion of green covers everything! Lovely!!

I hope you are finding the start of your week productive and happy.
Until next post,
Amy

    1. Thank you so much :-) Thank you for the lovely compliments! :-) I am working on some pants right now for school. I wish I could sew more right now, but school has really been "bustin my chops" lately. This semester is pretty intense. This summer I can't wait to make more sundresses and swimwear. :-)
