Here is my latest creation...the Starry Seaside Wrap Dress!
I LOVE the way this dress came out! It is so flirty and fun! I think the fabric choice was just perfect for the style of dress. I love the patriotic/nautical feel to it. We shot these pictures at Fort Monroe in Hampton Virginia. We have been to many of the other lighthouses in the area, and shot pics of them, with the exception of this one. I knew this lighthouse was not as tall as many of the others in the area, so it would be great in the background of the pictures, as it would be easier to fit it in the frame of the shot. I really LOVE anything ocean, or beachy related, so of course I love lighthouses. If you want to learn more about this one just click
HERE. This website has info on ALL lighthouses by state and even Canadian lighthouses! It shows how to get to them by map and gives you the history on them! It is a wonderful site!! Make sure to scroll all the way to the bottom of the link if you want to find the button for all the other lighthouses and locations. :-)
Originally I was going to go to New/Old Cape Henry, but we decided to check this out instead because it was something new, and we have been to New/Old Cape Henry many times. I still want to do a shoot there, so keep on the lookout for the pics on this blog. :-)
Here are some other camera phone pics and what not that we took yesterday as well...

Today I will be working on my lemon yellow dress. I am going to drape this one to create the pattern. I hope it comes out as well as I picture it in my head!

Beautiful. What pattern did you use?
ReplyDeleteThank you Bethany. This dress was from a Butterick pattern I bought a while ago. It was number 5454. I think it is still in circulation. The dress I am making now is my own design. Make sure to come visit again to see it when it is done.

DeleteI've got to check out that pattern - this is so gorgeous. I love wrap dresses, but always have a hard time find the ideal fit. And your fabric choice was ideal - it's very Mod Cloth. Thanks for the sweet Sew Can Do shout out on this post & thanks for linking to Craftastic Monday at Sew Can Do:)
ReplyDeleteThank you Cheryl :-) I am glad you like it! I found the fabric last year on sale for 3.00 a yard!! score!
DeleteYou are talented! I envy all the clothing makers out there~ i stopped sewing my own a long time ago~ Patterns never worked for me...Love those pics too! Thanks so much for linking up!
