Green Wool Jersey Cocktail dress

Here is the green wool jersey dress that I just completed the other day. While this is not my most favorite thing that I have sewn, I do like the draped back. You can switch this dress up to be more "dressy" or more casual by changing up the accessories.  As I said, this was made from a wool jersey I have had for a little while. I think this would look even better made from a silk or rayon jersey, with a whole lot of that "clingy drape". I was FREEZING when we took this picture! My hair was not cooperating either, and seemed to have a mind of its own yesterday. LOL.
I absolutely adore the clutch I bought to go with my shoes and belt! It is unique for sure. ;-)

I was so cold!

Love the back of this

THE CLUTCH! fuhgeddaboudit!! LOL

It has an optional chain strap to carry

Tomorrow is New Years Eve. What are your plans? My family usually stays at home. I am not into going out in traffic on a night where so many people booze it up. I would rather snuggle up with my husband at home on the couch, and sip a nice bottle of good Champagne (none of that cheap stuff for us! blech!) On new years day we usually take down the Christmas tree, and tuck away all the decor until next year. Speaking of Christmas...here is our Christmas card picture from this year. I really like the way it came out.
Here is wishing all of you out there a Very Happy New Year 2013!! May the coming year find you healthy and happy.
Until next post,
Amy

    1. Hi Justine,
No I did not design this one. I didn't have time to make a pattern this time around, so I used one I had on hand, that was pretty fast to put together. I LOVE stuff that is easy and FAST, yet effective. Usually when I make my own patterns with a knit in mind, I just drape it on my dress form. I like working that way with jersey. The pattern I used for this dress was McCall's # 6069. This pattern literally says "1 hour dress" on the envelope! LOVE IT.

  2. Love your dress! We don't go out for New Year's Eve either. I'd rather be at home with my husband and children than to be anywhere else on this Earth. I don't even stay up...it's past my bedtime. LOL

    1. hahahhaah Oh we have done that MANY times. If we are tired, we just go to bed. There was a time when I would be leaving my house to go out at 10pm!! I can't believe I ever did that. I so love sleep now! LOL!

    1. I am not sure if it is. If not I know that the pattern companies sell "out of print" patterns, which you can check, also ebay and etsy are great places to find patterns. I have bought out of print, and also vintage patterns this way.
