My "Cabin 8" Plaid Coat

Here it is...My "Cabin 8" plaid coat!
In my very first post, I talked about how I found a picture of a coat they used to sell on ModCloth that was called the "Homemade Marshmallows coat". I really liked the warmth and style of the coat, and thought it would be perfect for the chilly days ahead where I live. I decided to make my own version of this coat for myself. My coat is fully lined, and made of 100% wool flannel. It feels amazing! I love the way it came out. The entire time I was making the coat, I could not stop thinking of our trip to Fairy Stone park, and our stay at Cabin 8. That is why I am calling it the "Cabin 8 coat". It also looks like something you would wear in the mountains or walking through the woods! :-)

I can't wait until we take our trip. I plan on wearing my coat when we sit outside on the porch, and sip hot cocoa, while taking in the lovely view!

I also posted my coat up on the Sew Much Ado blog, We did it Wednesday. Come join in the fun, and post your sewing creation!

    1. Thanks so much Courtney!! :-) Today I am unable to wear a coat due to humidity! there are thunderstorms in the area. It is really odd, I went from long sleeve coat weather, to warm and humid! then next week it is supposed to be in the upper 50's to upper 60's! There is a saying here..."if you don't like the weather, wait 5 minutes!" LOL

  2. This is great! The collar, the color, and the plaid pattern all combine to make this a really gorgeous jacket. I love it!

    1. Thanks girl! :-) It is really chilly today here, and I wore boots and my knitted scarf with a thick sweater to run to the farm-stand this morning. This coat was much needed! :-)
